Uther's horse is a sleipnir. In Norse mythology, Sleipnir is an 8 legged flying horse.

In Dark White, sleipnirs are a rare kind of horse-like flying creature with 6 legs.

It has 6 legs for the same reason Ursula the sea witch has 6 tentacles instead of 8... Because it's easier to draw...
